On Oct. 26, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, at a regular briefing, was
asked about China accompanying North Korea’s top leader on a visit to Dandong.
He said China and North Korea are friendly neighbors and that preserving,
consolidating and developing bilateral relations remains the Chinese party and
government’s firm strategic policy. Guo added that stable China–North Korea ties
support bilateral welfare and regional peace and prosperity, and that China is
willing to continue working with North Korea to implement leaders’ key consensus
and push relations forward.
