French government bond selling paused on Monday after MOODY'S did not downgrade
the sovereign rating. Weekend protests wound down largely peacefully, avoiding
the previous week's social unrest. France's 10-year yield fell 5.3 bps to
4.9685% and the 10-year spread over Germany narrowed. A Deutsche Bank rates
strategist said the temporary relief could persist through Thursday ahead of the
ECB rate decision. Markets are increasingly worried the ECB is paying more
attention to the adverse impact of rising long-dated yields.
