Intermittent Houthi militant attacks over several weeks, which have killed
dozens, are increasingly disrupting Saudi economic activity — restricting
aviation, forcing postponement of marquee events and effectively halting parts
of the Riyadh financial district — and have driven the Tadawul sharply lower,
making Saudi equities one of the worst-performing emerging-market markets this
month. Economists say it is too early to precisely quantify the damage, but most
judge any windfall from higher global oil prices unlikely to fully offset losses
to the non-oil economy central to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's roughly
$1.4 tln diversification agenda (tourism, FDI and related sectors).
