Ukrainian drone strikes since mid-March had caused domestic fuel shortages, prompted temporary bans on gasoline, jet fuel and diesel exports and forced imports of refined products. After the US pushed talks and helped arrange a diesel supply deal, Trump announced on Oct. 11 that Russia and Ukraine had agreed an energy ceasefire. Deputy Prime Minister Novak said refineries are rapidly restarting idled units and that needed oil-and-gas equipment can largely be produced domestically.
