Turkey warned Russia and Ukraine on Wednesday against further attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea and said it reserves the right to pursue legal action over related strikes. The defence minister called the move Ankara’s most direct intervention to date and said some attacks have affected Turkish-flagged or Turkish-owned ships. Turkey, a NATO member that maintains ties with both Moscow and Kyiv, said it is awaiting responses to a proposed plan to stop escalating strikes and protect grain shipments. The minister also reported a commercial vessel was hit by three drones within Bulgarian maritime jurisdiction on Wednesday.

The company has deepened cooperation with major suppliers and accelerated supply‑chain diversification to strengthen key‑material procurement. Ebury analyst Matthew Ryan said the government’s budget restored some fiscal headroom and should meet UK gilt market expectations in the short term. He warned the buffer is only about 0.4% of GDP—low by historical standards—and may not fully remove market concerns about further tax increases before the next fiscal adjustment. Chancellor John Healey said the fiscal buffer is expected to be £15bn in 2029-30, versus market expectations of £10-12bn before the budget.
