ADNOC has told some Asian refiners that from early 2027 part of its offshore
Persian Gulf crude will be routed via a new pipeline to Fujairah, allowing
shipments to avoid the Strait of Hormuz. The company plans to deliver portions
of Upper Zakum crude at the Fujairah terminal to long-term contracted customers.
ADNOC said in May it was accelerating construction and that the pipeline would
be completed next year but provided no further details. Deliveries will be made
under annually renewed long-term supply agreements, removing the need for buyers
to send tankers through a strait still exposed to the threat of Iranian attacks.
