Shenzhen hosted the Greater Bay Area International Brain‑Computer Interface
Industry Innovation Conference and launched China’s first Bright Brain
Technology Week. Researchers from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology,
Chinese Academy of Sciences, and partners demonstrated a new non‑invasive
ultrasound BCI that attracted attention for operating without craniotomy or
implanted electrodes, using focused ultrasound to interact with the brain. The
team positions the system as a new technical pathway within non‑invasive BCI
approaches, distinct from invasive and semi‑invasive routes.
