The U.S. military has cleared all internationally recognized primary transit lanes in the Strait of Hormuz and will keep them mine-free; thousands of merchant vessels have used those lanes safely and continue to do so.

A Yorkville Ives analyst said Microsoft (MSFT.O) quarterly results indicate the company has the cloud capacity to absorb strong AI-driven demand. Azure revenue beat Street estimates and the analyst called cloud the key driver of Microsoft’s share performance, saying the report shows "capacity is in place and demand is filling it." Customers are locking future spend, with committed future spend holding at USD677 bln; the analyst expects the portion of that revenue to be recognized in the next 12 months to be higher than previously projected. Microsoft shares rose 2.7% premarket, bucking broader tech weakness.
