Commerzbank analyst Antje Praefcke says in a report that if the ECB holds rates and signals caution on further tightening, the euro could weaken further. Given France’s fiscal strain, the ECB may avoid a strong tightening signal; "markets still see scope for one more ECB hike by mid‑next year and possibly two by end‑2027." Praefcke adds that a cautious ECB and downward repricing of rate expectations could push EUR/USD toward $1.10.

Israel’s Central Elections Committee completed the preliminary count on the evening of the 29th (local time) and released provisional results. With all special ballots included, Prime Minister Netanyahu’s right‑wing governing bloc won 53 seats, a bloc led by former IDF chief of staff Eisenkot won 48 seats, and Arab parties outside those two blocs won 19 seats. No single bloc reached the 61‑seat majority required to form a government. After statutory ballot cross‑checks and legal appeals, the committee will publish final official results on November 4, after which President Herzog will consult party delegations and formally appoint a lawmaker to try to form the next government.
