In Asian trade on Friday, USD/IDR reversed a three-day decline, trading near 18,180. Persistent foreign capital outflow risk is weighing on the rupiah and investor sentiment; the Jakarta Composite Index fell 1.29% to about 5,030, dragged by weaker US futures after Alphabet plunged overnight and renewed concerns over AI investment returns. Bank Indonesia said it will actively intervene in the spot FX market, in NDF and DNDF markets, and make targeted secondary-market purchases of government bonds to stabilise the currency.

China A-share PCB sector opened sharply lower in the opening auction. Ouke Yi fell over 18%, Shenghong Technology dropped more than 12%. Taijin New Energy, Nanya New Materials, Pengding Holdings, Jiuri New Materials and Hongshida also declined.
