China won the secretariat for OIML Technical Committee on Quality and Density
subcommittee TC9/SC2 (automatic weighing instruments) at the 61st CIML meeting
in New Delhi on Oct. 26-28. Nearly 60 member states and over 100 delegates
attended; SAMR deputy director and CIML council member Bai Qingyuan led the
Chinese delegation. This is China’s fourth secretariat among OIML’s 50
sub-technical committees. TC9/SC2 develops international metrology rules for
belt weighers, in-motion truck scales and automatic sorting scales — standards
used to harmonize legal metrology, reduce technical trade barriers and support
fair bulk-commodity trading.
