Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges traded CNY1.6745 trillion on Oct. 30, up CNY117.94 billion from the previous session. Shanghai turnover was CNY764.23 billion (volume 498 million lots) vs CNY715.62 billion (444 million lots) the prior session; Shenzhen turnover was CNY910.24 billion (volume 608 million lots) vs CNY840.90 billion (540 million lots). Xinyisheng led single-stock turnover at CNY21.61 billion, followed by Zhongji Xuchuang CNY20.66 billion, Changxin Technology CNY12.15 billion, CATL CNY10.31 billion and GigaDevice CNY10.02 billion.

Schroders strategist James Billson said the euro fell to a 17-month low versus the dollar and near a 19-month low versus the pound after the ECB decision and could continue to trade under pressure. The ECB left rates unchanged but signalled caution on further hikes, citing tighter financial conditions and a weaker growth outlook. Billson said the ECB faces a pronounced policy dilemma—downside growth risk alongside still-elevated inflation—and while a December rate hike remains possible, the probability of another increase is declining. He added Schroders remains bearish on the euro.
