U.S. Vice President Vance told a town hall Washington should pay more attention
to young Americans’ affordability. He blamed housing benefits for undocumented
immigrants and Wall Street investors’ residential purchases for raising living
costs and said many young voters struggle to buy homes and start families; Vance
said most Republicans have not paid enough attention to affordability—he called
himself an exception—but added the party and the president are also focused on
making core elements of the American Dream affordable.
