On the 31st (local time) an Iranian delegation traveled to Doha for talks with Qatar; Iran says it will not negotiate with the United States and the visit is intended to continue recent Qatari-mediated discussions. U.S. sources said on the 30th Qatari mediators and Iranian officials held more than 12 hours of talks in Tehran aimed at advancing a U.S.-Iran agreement to avoid renewed conflict after the U.S. midterm elections.
