CHINA'S HE attended the opening of the 2026 World Cities Day global event and
the 4th Global Sustainable Cities Award ceremony in Fuzhou. He said the
government has largely secured housing access for the population, delivered
high-quality, full employment for urban residents, effectively protected
cultural heritage and strengthened urban governance. Following the Central urban
work conference, he said China will pursue a path of urban modernization with a
people-centered focus—targeting innovation, livability, aesthetics, resilience,
civility and smart-city development—and will work with partners to implement the
UN 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda. He met UN-Habitat executive director
Rossbach ahead of the ceremony.
