Teikoku Databank surveyed 195 major Japanese food and beverage producers and
found 1,477 food items slated for price increases in November, roughly ten times
the year-earlier count. The increases are concentrated in processed foods and
beverages, with an average rise of 17%. That brings the number of food items
that have raised or are due to raise prices this year to 20,327, again topping
20,000 since 2025.
