After threats of a renewed Middle East war, the UAE said it hopes US-Iran talks will yield a diplomatic breakthrough while preparing for worst-case outcomes. Anwar, the UAE presidential foreign policy adviser, said “we hope for a diplomatic breakthrough,” adding the region does not want another escalation and that the UAE, as before, is preparing for the worst.

On Nov 1 local time, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said he will receive formal election results from the Central Elections Committee on Nov 4 and will open consultations at the presidential residence. Addressing the coalition-formation deadlock, Herzog urged party leaders to accept the election outcome, remain open to compromise and seek creative solutions to avoid another national election.
