Statistics Indonesia said on Monday it expects 2026 rice production at 33.11 mln tonnes, down 4.57% YoY from 34.69 mln tonnes, citing an extended dry season driven by El Niño. The government is seeking to limit damage by promoting earlier planting and distributing water pumps.
