At its 2026 Q3 briefing, CRRC said 2027 newly opened line mileage is expected to
increase notably versus 2026, providing support for EMU procurement. The company
cautioned that procurement and deliveries of trainsets do not scale in a fixed
ratio with new mileage; the main driver is changes in rail passenger traffic. If
passenger traffic remains robust, CRRC expects EMU procurement and deliveries to
keep improving. On urban transit, vehicle replacement was limited during the
15th Five-Year Plan but is expected to pick up from the 16th Five-Year Plan.
CRRC is tracking urban-rail new-build plans and hopes approvals proceed, but
said domestic new urban-rail orders for 2026 still face pressure.
