China's Premier Li met Oman's Sultan Haitham in Beijing and outlined plans to
deepen cooperation across the full oil and gas value chain, accelerate
high-quality clean energy projects, and expand collaboration in agriculture,
fisheries, satellites, ICT and artificial intelligence. Li said China will seek
an early conclusion of China-GCC free trade agreement negotiations to raise the
level of mutual benefit, and urged steps to facilitate two-way travel and
broaden cultural and educational exchanges. Citing recent volatility in the
Middle East, China expressed willingness to work with Oman, under initiatives
proposed by Xi, to help restore peace and stability in the Gulf.
