The UAE said on Monday at ADIPEC it will accelerate energy infrastructure
investment to reduce the risk of supply disruptions through the Strait of
Hormuz, saying the Middle East war has underscored the need for alternative
export routes and spare capacity. Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei said the
country must ‘‘prepare for the worst’’ and that prior investment in pipelines,
shipping and logistics helped sustain supplies during the conflict. He urged
producers to invest in overseas storage closer to customers and said many firms
will redesign facilities after the war to improve crisis resilience. The remarks
echo ADNOC CEO Sultan Al Jaber’s calls to expand strategic reserves, raise
refined-fuel inventories and strengthen infrastructure, noting energy security
should be measured by physical delivery points, not production capacity alone.
