After AI-related liquidation triggered a broad equity selloff, major investors are increasingly skeptical Anthropic's IPO can fetch a $1.5 tln valuation. Anthropic had planned a debut in the week of Nov. 16 and aimed to raise up to $100 bln, implying roughly a $1.5 tln valuation. Three prospective large investors said the valuation will likely need to be cut; one suggested it could be nearer $1 tln. One investor added that even if markets recover, convincing institutions hit by the recent selloff to take sizable new AI exposure may be difficult, and Anthropic could delay the offering.
