Gold rose in the Asian session as risk appetite improved. ANZ said markets
increasingly expect a Democrat-led US Congress to be more effective at tackling
inflation. The World Gold Council said central banks added a net 321 tonnes of
gold in Q3. Goldman Sachs kept a long-term bullish view on structurally strong
central bank demand but cut its 2026 year-end gold price forecast to $4,150/oz
from $4,650/oz, citing the Fed’s recent tilt toward tighter policy and its
impact on positioning. Spot gold was up 0.4% at $4,101.80/oz.
