Yonhap reports that on Nov. 6 South Korea's deputy prime minister and finance
minister convened an emergency market review attended by the government's four
senior economic and financial officials. The meeting approved a three-month
waiver of the mandatory 140% collateral ratio for securities firms' margin
financing. Officials said they would implement additional market-stabilization
measures if stock-market volatility widens.
