Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reports Secretary of State and national security adviser Rubio has been discussing his future with advisers and has raised resignation with White House officials; some sources say the White House asked him to stay. Rubio has not decided whether to resign or set a departure date. The State Department denied he is considering resignation, calling the reports false and saying Rubio will remain in the administration. Bloomberg adds the administration may reshuffle staff after Republican midterm losses; if Rubio leaves before Democrats take control of the Senate next January, Trump would have the opportunity to nominate a successor sooner. Earlier media reports naming the US ambassador to India as a possible replacement were denied by that official.
