Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi on Friday announced a JPY10 billion (about
USD63 mln) emergency cybersecurity package to push the government into a more
proactive posture against rising cyber incidents. The package will fund use of
AI to strengthen baseline defenses and incident-response capabilities, boost
cyber-attack investigation and analysis, and provide support to affected
organizations. The move follows a string of security incidents and disclosed
PHP-related vulnerabilities that have impacted Japanese firms and websites;
Takaichi said unauthorized access and data leaks remain ongoing and urged all
necessary measures to raise national response capacity.
