Warburg Pincus CEO Jeffrey Perlman said Japan is undergoing structural changes
that have made the market more receptive to global private equity, treating
sponsors as partners rather than adversaries. He said the firm's value-creation
programs can support corporate growth and described Japan as a realistic,
attractive opportunity. Perlman added that while competition for mega-deals is
intense, Warburg is targeting less-contested mid-market transactions.
