Early today (May 28), the head of Iran's parliamentary National Security BOARD
said Iran will not back down because of remarks by US President TRUMP and will
"uphold its red lines" in talks with the United States — specifying those red
lines as its uranium enrichment capacity and stock of enriched uranium, control
of the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of sanctions. Earlier, TRUMP told a
cabinet meeting he was dissatisfied with progress in US‑Iran talks, would not
accept a new Strait of Hormuz management mechanism being negotiated between Iran
and Oman, is not considering easing sanctions on Iran for now, and would not
accept reaching an agreement first and then negotiating the nuclear issue
further.
