At the close of trading in New York, the euro was worth $1.1747, down from $1.1767 the previous day; the pound sterling was worth $1.3466, down from $1.3507. The dollar was worth 156.49 yen, up from 156.03 yen; 0.7917 Swiss francs, up from 0.7896 Swiss francs; 1.3696 Canadian dollars, up from 1.3684 Canadian dollars; and 9.1996 Swedish krona, up from 9.1802 Swedish krona.
