Liz McKean, Director of Economic Statistics at the UK Office for National Statistics, said: "Employment has fallen again, with job losses over the past year mainly concentrated in the retail and hospitality sectors, reflecting continued weakness in hiring activity. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate remained at the level reported last month, but has risen compared to both the previous quarter and the same period last year."
