At midday closing, most major domestic futures contracts rose. Butadiene rubber, ethylene glycol, and styrene rose over 4%, bottled chips rose over 3%, and benzene, asphalt, plastics, and PTA rose nearly 3%. On the downside, palladium fell nearly 2%, and platinum fell nearly 1%.
