According to a Reuters poll, of 35 economists, 32 expect the Brazilian central bank to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 15% on January 28; two expect a 25 basis point cut to 14.75%; and one expects a 50 basis point cut to 14.50%. Of the 34 economists surveyed, 15 predict a 50 basis point cut in March, 13 expect a 25 basis point cut, and six hold other views.
