[China Earthquake Administration Swiftly Initiates Emergency Response to 5.1-Magnitude Earthquake in Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang] According to the official measurement of the China Earthquake Networks Center, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang (40.88°N, 84.17°E) at 12:12 PM on February 23, 2026, with a focal depth of 15 kilometers. Following the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration activated a Level IV emergency response, coordinating with the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Earthquake Administration to carry out emergency response work. Relevant units were instructed to conduct joint consultations, strengthen seismic monitoring and post-earthquake trend analysis, and promptly report relevant information.
