According to the National Bureau of Statistics, at the end of the year, the total number of employed persons nationwide was 725.04 million, of which 475.35 million were employed in urban areas, accounting for 65.6% of the total employed population. A total of 12.67 million new urban jobs were created throughout the year, 110,000 more than the previous year. The average urban surveyed unemployment rate for the year was 5.2%. The urban surveyed unemployment rate at the end of the year was 5.1%. The total number of migrant workers nationwide was 301.15 million, an increase of 0.5% over the previous year. Among them, 180.06 million were migrant workers who left their hometowns, an increase of 0.8%; and 121.09 million were migrant workers who stayed in their hometowns, an increase of 0.1%.
