The Thai Shippers' Council estimates that the Strait of Hormuz crisis will cause the freight cost of a 40-foot container to rise from $3,500 to $7,000, and Thailand's exports to the Middle East will face a loss of about 33.3 billion baht per month, with another 32 billion baht worth of goods stranded in transit.
