[Iran Emphasizes All US Bases in the Region are "Legitimate Targets"] On March 4, local time, Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva formally sent a letter to the Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament (CD), strongly condemning the military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The letter explicitly emphasized that, within the framework of exercising its inherent right to self-defense, all US bases, facilities, property, and related interests in the region are considered "legitimate targets" for Iran. The letter requested that it be distributed as an official document of the CD, stating that the US-Israeli attacks of February 28 were "premeditated criminal acts" and "serious violations of fundamental principles of international law," explicitly pointing out that these acts of aggression clearly violated Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter and the mandatory rules prohibiting the use of force, and constituted a serious threat to regional and international peace and security as well as the international legal order.
