Per CNN reporter Frederik Pleitgen, the US has recently initiated indirect
outreach to Iran via intermediaries to explore a potential agreement to end the
four-week conflict. Discussions have not reached formal negotiations. Proposals
under consideration aim beyond a ceasefire toward a concrete end to hostilities.
A senior Iranian source said Iran is open to viable plans that safeguard its
national interests, including sanctions relief, while guaranteeing it will not
develop nuclear weapons but maintain peaceful nuclear use.
