At midday closing, domestic futures contracts showed mixed results. Cotton and soybean futures rose by more than 2%, while low-sulfur fuel oil (LU), apples, cotton yarn, platinum, fiberboard, corn, SC crude oil, and stainless steel rose by more than 1%. On the downside, rubber, caustic soda, and coking coal fell by more than 4%, PVC, European shipping contracts, and ethylene glycol fell by more than 3%, and PTA, coke, and staple fiber fell by more than 2%.
