The Trump administration will allow a 30-day waiver on Iranian oil shipments to
expire on April 19, two officials said, ending a measure that enabled about 140
million barrels to reach global markets. The move coincides with a US blockade
targeting shipments from Iranian ports. The waiver, issued March 20, had eased
supply pressure during the conflict with Iran. Officials said Washington may
apply secondary sanctions on buyers, warning that activity involving Tehran
could trigger additional penalties.
