[Trump: Lebanon and Israel Agree to Ceasefire] US President Trump tweeted that he had just had a very pleasant meeting with the highly respected President of Lebanon and Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel.
The two leaders have agreed to formally begin a 10-day ceasefire at 5 p.m. Eastern Time in order to achieve peace between their two countries.
On Tuesday, representatives from both countries met with our great Secretary of State Rubio in Washington, D.C., for the first time in 34 years. He instructed Vice President Vance, Secretary Rubio, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kaine to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve lasting peace. He added that it has been a great honor to resolve nine wars around the world, and this would be the tenth, so let's get this done!
