Kpler shipping data reviewed showed a range of cargo ships passing in and out of
the strait in recent days, including some that are under U.S. sanctions.
Shipping analysis firm Lloyd’s List said that of the 27 large trading ships that
it tracked crossing the strait since April 13, some 15 used the Iranian-mandated
route. The data also show that 81% of ships that transited the strait since
April 13 were affiliated with Iran through ownership, flag, port calls in Iran
and other links.
