Iran has told regional mediators it will send a negotiating team to Islamabad on Tuesday for the second round of talks with the US, people familiar with the matter said, though Tehran has not publicly confirmed the plan. Confusion grew after Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said Monday there are “no plans for the next round of negotiations” and “we don’t believe in deadlines or ultimatums to secure Iran’s national interests.” President Masoud Pezeshkian earlier stated Tehran maintains a “deep, historical mistrust of the U.S. government," adding that "Iranians do not submit to force."
