Strategists at JPMorgan Chase & Co. led by Dubravko Lakos-Bujas raised their
year-end target for the S&P 500 to 7,600 from 7,200, implying about 7% upside
from Monday’s 7,109 close. The upgrade reflects a stronger outlook for
technology and AI, with early Q1 earnings exceeding expectations and helping
offset geopolitical risks. Optimism has also been fueled by Anthropic PBC’s new
Mythos model, with 66% of AI-linked stocks outperforming since its release. The
team said a swift resolution of Middle East tensions could push the index toward
8,000, though near-term volatility remains possible.
