At the close of New York trading, the euro was worth $1.1711, down from $1.1726 the previous day; the pound sterling was worth $1.3507, up from $1.3482. The dollar was worth 159.49 yen, down from 159.59 yen; 0.7846 Swiss francs, up from 0.7821 Swiss francs; 1.3667 Canadian dollars, down from 1.3673 Canadian dollars; and 9.2129 Swedish krona, up from 9.1997 Swedish krona.
