China added 8.91 GW of solar capacity in March, a four-year low for the month, according to the National Energy Administration, as installation growth slowed after years of rapid expansion. Solar cell output fell 21% year-on-year to 71.6 GW, marking the steepest drop since declines began last September. The sector faces rising curtailment rates, overcapacity and losses across the supply chain. Solar exports remained strong, surging nearly 80% year-on-year amid global energy disruptions and ahead of export tax rebate changes. Wind additions were 4.73 GW and thermal power 4.07 GW, both lower than a year earlier.
