ExxonMobil and Chevron resisted White House calls to boost output despite a worsening energy crisis. Exxon CFO Neil Hansen and Chevron finance chief Eimear Bonner said neither company would alter Permian Basin or broader strategies. The Iran war has cut Gulf production and disrupted refining, driving oil to $126 a barrel and US petrol above $4 a gallon.
