The Trump administration delayed plans to suspend tariffs on imported beef, after backlash from cattle ranchers and some congressional Republicans, the Wall Street Journal reported. Trump had been expected to sign executive orders aimed at lowering beef prices by expanding imports and supporting a rebuilding of the US cattle herd. The measures would suspend tariff-rate quotas on beef imports, allowing more low-tariff imports as the US cattle herd hits a 75-year low and beef prices remain at record highs.
