A Federal Reserve survey found Americans remained broadly concerned about
inflation in 2025, while anxiety over the job market increased amid near-zero
job growth. About 42% of adults said finding or keeping a job was a concern, up
from 37% in 2024, while roughly 90% worried about rising prices. The survey also
showed financial stress was more pronounced among lower-income households,
younger adults and Black Americans. Nearly a quarter of renters fell behind on
rent, and about half of adults under 30 lived with their parents. Separately,
one in four workers reported using generative AI on the job.
