Chinese social media users reacted enthusiastically to Donald Trump’s landmark
Beijing visit, sharing AI memes and jokes about his delegation, though some
complained about disruptions caused by the trip. Many expressed pride and
confidence, viewing China as engaging the US on equal footing and portraying
Beijing as a source of stability amid global turmoil. Weibo user Xing Lida, who
has more than 6 million followers, wrote that it was the first time in about 130
years that China and the US were holding talks as equal powers, referring to the
late Qing dynasty period when the US overtook China economically.
