South African officials say Eskom, the South African power utility, is in preliminary talks with the World Bank and other funding providers to finance its new nuclear power projects. The company plans to launch the first step of its nuclear power tender process, issuing requests for information, within 12 months, covering up to 5,200 megawatts of generating capacity.
